The mystery that moves the river of life has long been a source of fascination. While most people like to check their stars in newspaper for indications of their future very few are aware of the Vedic origins of Astrology as practiced in India since time immemorial. Their intricate mathematics left no room for misconceptions on the positions of the planets long before Copernicus.
According to their Vedic wisdom, Astrology harmoniously unites religion, philosophy, science and art into a universal language that gives the ability to see more clearly the Divine Plan for our lives and to answer the eternal questions "Who Am I and Why was I born?"
There is a belief that any education or learning that doesn’t bring us a little closer to answering these questions is a waste of time.
------------------------- The finest emotion of which we are capable is the mystic emotion. Herein lies the germ of all art and all true science. Anyone to whom this feeling is alien, who is no longer capable of wonderment and lives in a state of fear is a dead man. To know that what is impenetrable for us really exists and manifests itself as the highest wisdom and the most radiant beauty, whose gross forms alone are intelligible to our poor faculties his knowledge, this feeling ... that is the core of the true religious sentiment. In this sense, and in this sense alone, I rank myself among profoundly religious men. Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
BE PATIENT
Astrology has become more available to anyone on a quest for self-knowledge, because of computers. We can easily create charts and they will do all the calculations to assess the strengths of the houses and the planets. However, we have to be patient as it is not an open book and only as we become ready through our spiritual practice will the realisations start to dawn about the true nature of who we are and the roles we have to play.
There are many influences to be considered (with stars) and initially it may seem overwhelming. Especially Vedic Astrology because there are so many foreign words we need to learn and even when we have a translation we still don’t understand the concept enough to apply it to our lives. AS I said we just have to be patient and know when the time is right the teacher appears.
The first day you sat into a car with so many monitors and pedals etc and wondered how would you ever remember to use all of them at once.Well, if you succeeded in getting over the initial shock you are probably even able to drive on auto pilot a lot of the time. However, you did need to learn the basics and so it is with astrology.
